摘要：The goal of the WOODSTOC project is to demonstrate that the acoustic properties of woods used in the manufacturing of musical instruments can be engineered through the introduction of nanoparticles. With that in mind, in this presentation I show how sensitive the mechanical properties of porous structures like wood and different types of paper are to the introduction of a small concentration of nanoparticles. This project is the first step towards the long-term vision of being able to manipulate the acoustic response of any type of wood so that ordinary pieces of this material may sound like top-quality instruments.
