摘要:District Forest Office Dhankuta is the one of the historical forest management practiced in one number province on Nepal. The district is under the directly guidance of Department of Forests (DoF) and closely supervised by regional forest director which is under the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, Government of Nepal. It has the mandate to manage the District’s forest resources for the conservation of the natural environment and supply of forest products to the local people and to support national economic growth.
The salleri pine forest in Dhankuta is situated in the Eastern Region of Nepal, represented by the species scientifically known as Pinus roxburghii Royle ex KhoteSallo of the family Pinaceae, has played a key role in the continuous functioning of the ecosystem of Dhankuta city. However, the resource base is coming under increasing pressure and being abused and unsused it becoming more than matured. It is a fragile ecosystem, highly fire hazard and accidental felling due to wind and rain in any season. Which, once becoming deforested, will result in the impairment of the pine block will disappear in near future which have great history of salleri ban in Dhankuta.
In order to meet the growing needs and aspirations of the local people and stakeholders, backup technologies and social campaign have been generated, however, only few are suitable to the particular conditions, constraints, materials and needs. To sustain the productivity of the hill pine forest in city area. Strategic actions and forest harvesting technological innovations are continually have to be applied in the field. The hill pine forest offer opportunities for the development of human capacity to alleviate the status of forest-dwellers and promote economic growth in the nation.
It is here that important, because of the unique terrain and pine vegetation established to augment supply of aesthetic value of city. Also, it is the main source of various renewable resources such as food, timber, forage, wildlife, water, agriculture, soil and recreational sites. These must be sustainably managed, protected and conserved to obtain and maintain goods and services for the local people.
